Benefits That Support Your Future

A career at a dealership can come with much more than competitive pay. Many employers offer benefits designed to support your health, financial well-being, professional development, and life outside of work.

Health Insurance

Nearly every dealership offers health insurance. Dealers typically cover about two-thirds of the employee-only premium and approximately half of the family premium.

Dental & Vision Coverage

Dental and vision plans are widely available, offered by approximately 99% and 97% of dealerships respectively. Employees commonly pay the plan premiums at group rates.

Health Savings Accounts

About 91% of dealerships offer access to a Health Savings Account. Approximately half of those employers also contribute funds to participating employees’ accounts.

Paid Time Off

Paid time off grows with experience. Employees receive a median of 15 paid days after five years and 20 paid days after ten or more years of service.

Paid Holidays

Most dealerships provide paid time off for major holidays. Christmas, Thanksgiving, New Year’s Day, and the Fourth of July are offered by nearly all participating employers.

Retirement Plans

Approximately 98% of dealerships offer a qualified retirement plan, most commonly a 401(k). Many also provide an employer match to help employees build long-term savings.

Insurance Protection

Life insurance is offered by 97% of dealerships, while 87% provide accidental death and dismemberment coverage and short-term disability insurance.

Additional Employee Benefits

Depending on the employer, benefits may include employee assistance programs, vehicle purchase plans, wellness programs, parental leave, and tuition or education assistance.

Benefits vary by business, position, eligibility, and length of employment. Data is based on the 2026 NADA Dealership Workforce Study. Ask prospective employers about the complete benefits package available for your role.
